Time to build my Vimeo portfolio

VimeoAs much as I enjoy photography, I also like shooting and producing video. But, like writing and recording music, it can demand a lot of time. I’ve never been happy simply rough-editing footage for upload to the web or burning to disc – I’d much rather take my time with shooting and post-editing, giving careful consideration to the creative process and technical elements. Trouble is, because of the time demand I often end up doing nothing at all.

Whilst browsing Vimeo channels the other day, I saw some work by kidswithcrayons that has inspired me to make time in 2010 to begin building a new portfolio of video work. This week I’ve acquired a great little HD camera, reinstalled Final Cut Express 4 and opened a Vimeo account. So, I’m ready to go, with a bunch of ideas for the first short (just need to plan some time now!).

Here’s My Favourite Things by kidswithcrayons, the work that’s inspired me to get going again…
