It has been a while since I last put virtual pen to paper. There has been a lot going on.
Briefly, I’ve been:
- Working on some exciting new projects (check the Twill portfolio in the New Year)
- Immersing myself in Adobe’s new CS4
- Working my way through O’Reilly’s Javascript: The Definitive Guide (when any normal person would be sleeping)
- Undertaking various photographic assignments
- Trying to find time to play guitar and go running
I invested in Adobe’s CS4 about a month ago and have, so far, been very impressed. As always, with every Adobe suite purchase you receive a complimentary gift. One of the things I find tough going is finding time for decent training, to stay on top of internet technology, so the option of a month’s subscription to Lynda.com was an instant no-brainer…

Lynda.com supplies on-line training in a host of industry standard software packages. I learn quickly using just personal intuition, but nothing helps expedite the formation of good habits and an efficient work flow more than being taught by the masters. I have, over the past 2 weeks or so, sat through a multitude of Lynda.com’s classes, streamed as rich QuickTime movies. I’ve learnt so much, in such a short time frame. It’s a great way to learn at a pace and time that suits you and, at $25 a month (or $250 a year), is worth every penny IMHO.
The course selection is constantly being updated and is extremely industry relevant. Whatever stage you’re at, there’s always more to learn!
